Inhalt:
The aim of this course is to provide a basic understanding on how the urban climate is created and how it affects the urban inhabitants. The course includes introductory lectures followed by planning and execution of meteorological field measurements in the urban area of Mainz, as well as analysis of the measured data. Emphasis will be on understanding how and why the urban climate varies in the city and at a diurnal scale.
