Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: Bereich: Analyse und Vergleich Gültig für folgende vom Institut angebotenen Studiengänge: - BA Politikwissenschaft (Aufbaumodul 2 und 3) - MEd Sozialkunde ( Modul Fachwissenschaftliche Vertiefung) - Magister und Staatsexamen (Bereich AVPS) This seminar follows a lecture/class discussion format. Occassionally, I will ask students to give a very short presentation on current events, but there will be no lengthy presentations by students ("Referate")
Inhalt: This seminar provides an introduction to British Politics. It covers the (changing) institutional structures and the main political actors as well as the political culture of the United Kingdom. The last part of the seminar will focus on political processes in general and electoral politics in particular. Obviously, we will follow campaign events and collectively obsess about the General Election in April/May.
