Inhalt: This course is designed as a practical introduction to the study of British and American literature. Its primary goal is to familiarize students with the three major genres of literature: poetry, drama, and prose. In discussing examples from each genre, students will learn a scholarly vocabulary to analyze and talk about literature. By the end of the semester, students will be able to distinguish different epochs of British and American literary history. In addition, they will engage different theoretical approaches to reading and interpreting literary texts.
