Inhalt:
When we think of Shakespeare and love, Romeo and Juliet instantly appears be-fore our eyes. People who know more of Shakespeare then mention his sonnets, and how he significantly changed this traditional form of writing about love. We'll take the sonnets into account, too, but our focus will be on a play that deals with love gone wrong in a highly dramatic and intriguing way. Does Shakespeare reveal himself here in an exceptional way, or is he simply realistic? And what a concept of love is conveyed in this play?
The focus in this class is on cultural studies as well as on literary translation. Students can thus obtain the respective certificates, also in linguistics.
