Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: Prerequisites: C-Test English with qualification for level C1 or successful completion of an English course at the B2.2 level (B2.2 leaving grade 2,3 or better). Credit requirements: regular attendance and participation and a presentation plus handout.
Inhalt: Aim and course requirements: This course is designed for medical students in their fourth semester who wish to improve their English skills for use in the field of medicine. It is intended as a preparation for students who plan to spend part of their medical training/career in an English-speaking country. The course will cover a variety of professionally relevant areas e.g., preparing a CV, writing letters of application, communication with patients/colleagues, comparison of health systems, clinical vocabulary, describing data, etc. Prior knowledge of English up to "Abitur" level is necessary. Places on the course will be allocated following a short interview (contact Kelleher@uni-mainz.de).
