Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: Dieser Kurs gilt nur für Bachelor. Magister- oder StaatsexamenskandidatInnen können diesen Kurs nicht besuchen.
Inhalt: The first half of this class will be concerned with students seeking advice with regard to their theses and will concentrate on questions of developing meaningful research. The second half will prepare students for oral exams to be taken in their bachelor's and/or master's degrees, increase the scope of their literary experience and fine-tune their language and presentation skills. All students will take on a presentation of either a research project or a particular work, author or genre. Furthermore, all students will be asked on a regular basis to demonstrate the fact that they have fulfilled their reading assignments. Presentation topics and/or requisite reading for the second part of this class will comprise the following, some of which will be made available in the course of the semester, most of which (esp plays, expository prose and prose fiction) you should try to take a look at before or at the start of term, regardless of which edition/online text you use.
