Inhalt:
In this lecture course we will cover major periods of American literature from the Civil War to the 21st century: realism / naturalism, modernism, postmodernism, postcolonialism, neo-realism, transnationalism. The lectures will provide surveys of each period and exemplify its generic features with reference to exemplary representatives and their works.

Regular attendance is obligatory.
