Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches:
Because of the bottleneck regarding courses that can be included in the module in FSD (foreign language teaching), this one course will actually represent a number of sub-courses. Students may sign up for this course as an Übung or a Seminar for the module in FSD (BA or MA). Please note: TWO (2) registration steps are necessary for participation in any part of this course! 1) You must sign up correctly on Jogustine, and 2) you must also sign up for the appropriae sub-course (Gaelic, Hungarian or EU Project) on ILIAS (AAAA/American Studies/Kiraly/SS 2013. ILIAS registration is open NOW! First come-first served! (Priority will be given to students who need credit for the FSD module!)

Overall, the topic of the course is „“. The sub-courses are:

1. A naturalistic introduction to Irish Gaelic
2. A naturalistic introduction to Hungarian
3. EU project on internships


You may take any one of them as an Übung or a Seminar for the FSD module. Students in the German Department are also free to enroll in these courses. (Please note: our seminar work will be done largely in English!)

If you take the sub-course in Irish Gaelic or Hungarian, you will be attending six double course sessions on the following four Saturdays in the SS:

20 April (9 a.m. – noon), 27 April & 4, 11, 18 May (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) and 29 June (10:00-11:30 a.m.)

The first session will comprise an introduction to the naturalistic method for second language acquisition developed by the instructor at the FTSK over the past decade. The following four sessions will comprise an intensiver immersion into the respective foreign language. And the final session will involve a mini-conference with poster presentations run by the SEMINAR students in the courses! (N.B. Students enrolled for Übung credit will only ATTEND the mini-conference; they will not have to give presentations!)

Please note that credit can only be given to students who attend ALL five sessions sessions.

Course requirements: ÜBUNG (Gaelic & Hungarian)

- A perfect attendance record at the five actual course sessions
- Submission of a language learning diary covering the learner’s experiences in the Gaelic or Hungarian course (to be submitted in printed form no later than 24 MAY.
- Attendance at the mini-conference on 29 June. (Each student will assess the various poster presentations).

Course Requirements: SEMINAR (Gaelic, Hungarian and EU internship project)

- All Übung requirements (see above)
- In addition: seminar students will be required to attend and additional double research
session (on SATURDAY, MAY 25th)  during which they will acquire skills for conducting mini-research projects on one or the other of our three sub-courses.
- Each seminar student will also participate in the creation and presentation of a
  poster at the mini-conference to be held on 29 June.
