Inhalt:
This jointly conducted lecture will cover the decisive developments within the Romantic period. This includes a survey of the ideological as well as the socio-economical changes which were formative for Romanticism, and beyond the thorough assessment of the works of great Romantic poets the development in drama and the novel will be outlined. Special attention will be given to the women writers of the age.

As far as possible, the lecture will be based on The Norton Anthology of English Literature.
