Inhalt: Learning and teaching English pronunciation in an EFL setting requires a lot of skills and abilities - and it's a vast research field. Our approach will thus have to be eclectic: - What are pronuncistion mistakes typpically made by German speakers of English? - What kind of exercises can be offered? - Why is there a foreign accent? - How do English textbooks for German secondary schools treat pronunciation issues? - How to diagnose an EFL learner as regards pronunciation? - What makes a Brit/an American sound foreign when she or he speaks German? - What are the goals in teaching/learning English pronunciation? - What are the stepping stones of the history of pronunciation teaching?
