Inhalt: The title of the course is "How to Read Joyce's Ulysses". There will be a brief introduction to Joyce's main works: Dubliners and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man before Ulysses followed by an account of the outline and structure of the Ulysses and the experimentation of style by Joyce and indeed of the novel. In reading the book, themes of how Joyce uses the ordinariness of the everyday using sources like religion, architecture, law, science and engineering etc.
Empfohlene Literatur: The only text required is the book itself: Ulysses. Any edition will do as a variety of editions will help discussion.
