Inhalt: This course is designed as an introduction to the study of British and American literature. Its primary goal is to familiarize students with the three major genres of literature: poetry, drama, and prose. In discussing examples from every genre, students will be provided with the scholarly vocabulary to analyze and discuss literary texts. In addition, students will learn about different epochs of British and American literary history and about theoretical approaches to reading and interpreting texts.
