Inhalt: This seminar will address one of the most pressing needs of the Church today: how leaders can lead in such a way as to facilitate consensus around Christ's will for the Church. Based on an evaluation of leadership approaches in the early Church, wisdom will be gleaned from noting strengths and weaknesses of different biblical models of governance. Application will then be given to how such wisdom informs various traditions ranging from Spirit-based to hierarchical approaches to leadership. The thrust of this course will be both theoretical and practical, seeking to develop the knowledge and skills needed for truth to be discerned and obeyed within the community of faith. Dieses sowohl neutestamentlich als auch konfessionskundlich und praktisch-theologisch ausgerichtete Seminar soll die Expertise von Prof. Anderson im Bereich ökumenischer Zusammenarbeit und Gemeindearbeit einbringen. Als Vertreter der relativ kleinen aber traditionsreichen Quäker-Kirche ist Anderson ständiger Berater beim Ökumenischen Rat der Kirchen (Genf) in der faith and order-Kommission.
