Inhalt:
Contemporary Indian English Literature contrasts the dying of British imperial India with the country's post-imperial rebirth. It fictionalizes issues like history, nationality, caste, religion and politics infusing modern India with 'magical realism'.

Empfohlene Literatur:
We will study Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children (1980), Arundhati Roy's The God of Small Things (1997), Hari Kunzru's The Impressionist (2002) and Aravind Adiga's The White Tiger (2008).
