Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: This class has been installed to provide a systematic survey of relevant areas of English linguistics. It is designed both as a remedial course, serving as starting point for the preparation of potential topics in the linguistics section of the fina M.Ed.l oral exam, and as a means of motivating further (more advanced) linguistic studies (Master theses). Topics will include: Phonetics/Phonology, Morphology and Word-Formation, English Grammar, Semantics, Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, World Englishes, American English, First and Second Language Acquisition, English Language History. Details of organization during first meeting.
