Inhalt:
How do literary texts affect real readers? How do literary texts move you? How do they change your life? Empirical and experimental research into literary reading processes is a very recent and interdisciplinary way to study literary texts. It belongs to the tradition of empirical aesthetics and neuro-aesthetics using methods like fMRI, EEG, eye-tracking and questionnaires. In this lecture, you will be introduced to this exciting new avenue of literary studies: the historical and methodological background will be explained and new studies will be shown.
