Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches:
This will be a course in elementary Italian offered for two different groups of students. First: those in the English or German Department who wish to obtain ÜBUNG credit towards the module in foreign language teaching (Fremdsprachendidaktik). (These students will be taking the course in order to learn about an approach to teaching in an unconventional, naturalistic manner. And Second: students who wish to study Italian for their BA degree at the FTSK and who have little or no prior knowledge of Italian. Auditors may be accepted if there is sufficent room in the course.

Please note that the course will take place from 25.09-06.10 and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Students will be expected to attend ALL class sessions! As is the case for all classes at the FTSK, no more than 2 90-minute absences will be permitted.

Students wishing to take the course for FSD Übung credit must sign up normally for this course during the first registration period on Jogustine (starting 31.07). Students wishing to acquire basic Italian in preparation for their BA studies in Italian at the FTSK must sign up with the Italian Department. (The course instructor will be adding their names to the official Jogustine list at a later date).  Only students who sign up in one of these ways can be accommodated in the course.

Please be advised that this will NOT be a conventional course with grammar lessons and lectures! Students will be interacting naturally in a variety of simulated and authentic situations and will be learning in a highly intuitive manner. Nevertheless, students  with no prior knowledge of Italian who apply themselves can expect to attain a level of approximately A2 by participating fully in the two-week course.

Course requirements: As there will be 50 contact hours in this course, the participants will be required to 1) attend and participate fully in all classes. Students who wish to receive credit for an Übung in FSD will be required to write a SHORT personal assessment of the course and their own success at learning Italian.
