Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: Der Workshop findet auf Deutsch und Englisch statt. Keine musikalischen Grundkenntnisse sind erforderlich.
Inhalt: The workshop focuses on noise as material and sound as medium with an emphasis on sound recordings as a tool for documentation and the creation of sonic material. In the workshop, the students will get familiar with the practise of collecting/organizing sound, and listening and understanding the role of noise in society. The workshop will consist of two parallel parts: A Practical part: The students will experiment with sound recordings and will be exposed to different sound generating devices so they can practise sound compositions from pre recorded or live sounds. Listening sessions: The students will get to know historical and contemporary sound compositions and talk about them in the context of sound art, noise making and music. At the end of the week the students will perform their compositions live or pre-recorded --- It is recommended to bring a computer to the workshop. There is no need for prior musical knowledge.
