Inhalt: In this seminar, students will familiarise themselves with the theoretical as well as the practical side of the phenomenon of intertextuality. In addition to reading and discussing theoretical texts critically, students are expected to have a profound knowledge of the two primary texts ("Hot Milk" and "Beloved") and to be willing to actively engage with them from multiple points of view. Each student will be part of an expert group once during the semester. The seminar is concluded by a written paper. Theoretical texts will be made available on Moodle where all of our discussions will take place. Students are required to acquire their own copies of "Hot Milk" by Deborah Levy and "Beloved" by Toni Morrison. Being familiar at least with "Hot Milk" by the start of the seminar is a prerequisite.
