Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: This class looks at the American Revolution in transatlantic context, and embeds it into the larger "Age of Revolutions" (Eric Hobsbawm). It also looks at how the American Revolution was remembered from shortly after it had occurred to the present day. This class will be taught online using the Moodle platform. (Please sign up for our class there if you are not signed up to it already). A short lecture on an aspect of our class will be uploaded every week, in addition to primary and secondary sources that we will all read and links to further information. There will be a weekly online meeting using Microsoft Teams (download and use your university account to log in) at the starting time given in Jogustine. This will be a sort of "book club" style meeting lasting ca. 45 minutes during which questions can be answered. Activities in Moodle will count as "active participation". Office hours will be offered using Teams and Skype for Business every Wednesday from 9–10, and if necessary by appointment.
