Inhalt: On the basis of a selection of representative texts, this course will provide a survey of the main epochs of British Literature since the Renaissance, recapitulate literary genres/sub-genres, protagonists and terminology and identify potential exam and thesis topics. The texts treated provide the exam topics for the “Modulprüfung” to be taken by M.Ed. students.
Empfohlene Literatur: Required reading: William Shakespeare, Measure for Measure (1604), Maria Edgeworth, Letters for Literary Ladies (1795/98), Joseph Conrad, The Secret Agent (1907), Doris Lessing, The Memoirs of a Survivor (1974), as well as the additional materials provided via JGU Reader. All students are expected to have read all texts!
Digitale Lehre: Zusätzliche Informationen: This course will be conducted online. All students are required to complete the preparatory tasks and other tasks set as "aktive Teilnahme". Details to be announced later. M.A. students: writing a short (3-4-page) term paper on a topic previously discussed with me; M.Ed. students: exam (details to follow).
