Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches:
The course will introduce you to the methods and approaches of transnational research pursued at the Obama Institute, and to enable you to develop self-directed M.A. research projects. On the one hand, we will discuss how transnationalism involves the study of circulations, interactions, and transfers across national boundaries. On the other hand, we explore how transnationalism helps recover the voices and visions of those people and groups who have been marginalized in the context of the focus on nation-centric history. You will encounter a variety of approaches and are encouraged to engage in interdisciplinary discussion.
