Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: In this course we will look at stories, novels and a play that represent the South from various perspectives. Not only will we address the issue of race but also the subjects of class, gender and social justice. We will first discuss two stories by William Faulkner and The War Within, a novel for young adults, which present unusual takes on the Civil War and Reconstruction.
