Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches:
BA students and exchange students are required to take and pass two short tests with an average grade of 4,0 in order to maintain active participation on this course.
B Ed students are required to take one ninety-minute exam at the end of this course.

Anwesenheitspflicht:
Compulsory attendance is required for this course in order to keep active participation status.

Inhalt:
This course is designed to revise and reinforce your awareness of grammatical structures, lexicon and punctuation in English. Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to think about grammar in context, rather than as an abstract set of rules. For this reason, reference will be made to a wide range of authentic materials, including journalistic texts, academic texts, fiction and podcasts.  We will also be referring to corpora of English in order to think about usage and frequencies, and there will be a strong focus on genre and appropriacy. This is to ensure that your use of structures fits the context in which you are speaking or writing.
