Inhalt: The course provides a general overview of the twentieth century British drama and theatre. It consists of the most important, influential and significant plays which are regarded as turning points in the development of the dramatic and theatrical form. Beginning with the Modernist period and closing with examples of plays from the 1990s, the course allows the students to see the diversity and variety which compose the artistic profile of the British dramatic literature as well as its selected theatre productions. The course also attempts to provide an overview of topics and thematic preoccupations with which modern British drama has engaged in reflecting the changing society and culture.
