Inhalt: The lecture will deal with modern literary representations of war in all genres, i.e. poetry, drama, and prose. It will start by asking for a definition of war literature and for reasons why certain forms might be considered modern. It will inquire into representation and its limits as well as issues of ethics and morality and questions of identity, for example in terms of gender, class, and nation. Lernziele: Fragen der literarischen Kriegsrepräsentation in englischsprachigen Texten werden mit Methoden der Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft gestellt und (in Teilen) beantwortet.
