Inhalt: Qualitative online research - Exploring digital media for crisis response The seminar introduces qualitative online methods in an applied research context. The seminar takes current examples of "crises" as the empirical focus of investigation. In contemporary crises such as the Covid-19 pandemic or the energy crisis, attention is drawn on digital media in manifold ways. Crisis-relevant information can be spread rapidly through digital channels (especially through "social media"). People can connect, interact and share expriences and knowledge relevant for crisis response. However, also the spread of misinformation is facilitated by social media and has become a societal challenge. After familiarising with current qualitative online methods, participants conduct an own qualitative analysis of online content. Within the frame of the seminar's topic, participants search for a case study on their own. A report must be submitted at the end of the semester.
