Contents: It is the aim of this seminar to trace the development of translation process research from its beginnings to the current state. Of particular interest are the different methods which have been employed over the years. How the cognitive processes are modelled will also play a central role, given that the cognitive models of the translation process have made it possible to answer old questions empirically and to ask new questions on the basis of the observation of translators' behaviour.
