It is not clear which processes during translation differ from those during interpreting and which are the same.
It would be possible, for example, to assume that the processes during interpreting are more simultaneous than during translation, but this has not been studied empirically.
This is why we will gather, process and analyse data during this Seminar and report the results in a short essay. This involves carrying out experiments (sight translation, translation and interpreting) with Translog (eyetracking, keylogging) and it will mean that you learn how to process the data, how to analyse it with speech recognition, transcription tools and statistical methods.
