Requirements / organisational issues: In the seminar "Practical Reasons" we will deal with the question what it means to have practical reasons for action. Which preconditions must be given so that one can reasonably claim to have a reason for action? Special attention will be paid to the role of reasons for action in the context of moral considerations: In what way, if at all, do moral norms give us reasons for action? Our reading will focus primarily on the debate on reasons for action since the 1970s and will probably begin with the influential text "Internal and external reasons" by Bernard Williams. (Further reading will be announced).
