Requirements / organisational issues:
In this class, students will act as the revision team in the project "Barrierefreie Kommunikation" - a combination of five separate courses with the common aim of producing the offical English translation of the first handbook on "Barrierefreie Kommunikation".
Students will autonompusly revise parts of the handbook using a translation tool. Terminology, tools and content support will be provided by the other courses.
Due to the high independent workload, there will only be a very limited number of mandatory in-class meetings. These will be communicated in the first session.
However, one session is already fixed:
There will be a MANDATORY half-day workshop on 24.04. during which you will learn the basics of foreign language revision and how to use our tool for effective revision.
Students will receive a passing grade based on the quality of their translations and adherence to deadlines, style guides, glossary etc. More in-depth information will also be provided in the first session.
Due to the relative difficulty of tahe texts, exchange students can only be accepted if they posses at least a C1-level in both German and English.
