Requirements / organisational issues:
Prerequisites for participation in this seminar are sufficient knowledge of German and English in order to be able to understand English-language texts as well as - depending on the modality of the seminar (see "Digital Teaching") - participation in the form of a presentation or editing of weekly worksheets as well as writing a term paper. The exact modalities will be communicated to the participants by jogustine message before the start of the lecture.
Contents:
In addition to basic theoretical texts on tourist authenticity, city branding and city tourism as well as linguistic landscapes, this seminar focuses on the strategies and effects of city branding and linguistic landscapes on urban tourist destinations. In the second part, based on the theoretical and empirical insights gained in the first part, we will examine city branding and linguistic landscapes using the example of Heidelberg.
