Contents:
Basic concepts of subtitling - especially from Chinese into German - will be discussed and applied. The films will be selected by the students themselves. Suggestions for topics and texts can be submitted in advance by e-mail during the semester break (kempa (at) uni-mainz.de).
The students are expected to familiarize themselves with the relevant software (Aegisub). The work in the course focuses on translational questions and techniques. The course is open to Chinese exchange students who are not assigned to the language courses (D courses).
