An admissions test must be passed to participate in all interpreting courses offered by the French department in the MA in Conference Interpreting.
Erasmus students may be admitted after consulting the instructors.
The interpreting science practice course "Note Taking" should be taken along with the practice course Consecutive Interpreting FR-GER 1.
Contents:
In the interpreting practice course "Consecutive Interpreting FR-GER 1", participants are taught the basics of FR-GER consecutive interpreting. Particular focus is placed on strengthening comprehension skills and analytical thinking, as well as on the analysis of language-pair-specific interpreting problems and strategies. In addition, students acquire research skills tailored to the interpreting process throughout the course of the semester. The knowledge acquired in the practice course "Note Taking" is further developed in this class. At the end of the course, students are able to consecutively interpret a speech of approximately five minutes.
After successful completion of the course by fulfilling the active-participation requirements, the advisory examination takes place, in which students consecutively interpret a(n) FR text into GER.
