In this course we will discuss, apply, and evaluate teaching methods for Young Adult Fiction in the EFL classroom. After analyzing theoretical approaches to the teaching of literature in general, and novels in particular, course participants will create their own ideas and approaches to teaching Young Adult Fiction.
In this class, students will jointly plan a complex unit and create their very own lesson within this unit. Participants are required to hand in a written lesson draft (text analysis, didactics, learning objectives, teaching and learning process, methodology), which will be completed during the seminar, and to give a presentation in sessions 12 + 13 on the lesson they designed.
More and detailed information will be given out in the first session. Additional preparatory reading material for individual sessions will be uploaded to the LMS.
