Requirements / organisational issues:
This class will focus on different aspects of language in TV shows. Participants may select their area of expertise from a number of different topics, shows and linguistic features. Both synchronic variation as well as diachronic change (in real or apparent time) may be considered. We'll be working with different corpora, tools, methods and analysis types, both qualitative and quantitative. The class will follow a blended learning concept. Depending on the pandemic situation, we will have both synchronous/live online meetings as well as asynchronous sessions and some meetings in person if possible. MS Teams will be used both for content and communication.
