In this course we will discuss, apply, and evaluate teaching methods for teaching films in the EFL classroom.
After analyzing theoretical approaches to the teaching of films in general, and the four movies for the EFL classroom in particular, course participants will create their own ideas and approaches to teaching films.
In this class, students will jointly plan and design a Webquest as a teaching unit for their movie. A Webquest is a digital task-based approach as well as an open learning unit based on the internet and can be taught both in a digital or BYOD classroom. Participants are required to turn in a written Webquest (didactics, main learning objective, methodology, introduction, internet research, tasks, teacher’s expectations) which will be completed during the seminar, and to give a presentation in the last two sessions on the Webquest they designed.
More and detailed information will be given out in the first session. Additional preparatory reading material for individual sessions will be uploaded to the LMS.
