The course is planned as face-to-face learning. If there are changes in the teaching format due to the pandemic situation, you will be notified as soon as possible.
Contents:
This seminar focuses on didactic concepts and teaching methods in linguistically heterogeneous learning groups. As a start, we get an overview of the areas of German as a school subject, and how they are mapped to the framework curriculum. We then deal with the construct 'multilingualism' and work on models for the acquisition of vocabulary, syntax and writing in the context of German as a first language and German as a second language (DaZ).
Building on this, we discuss concepts for language-sensitive and language-friendly teaching. Various types of test procedures for assessing language proficiency and examples of their practical evaluation are also presented.
The aim of the course is to analyze the conditions of teaching and learning in multilingual learning groups and to critically reflect on current concepts for practice.

Additional information:
- Proof of participation: presentation (10 min) or poster or practical exercise + active participation (this includes the submission of at least 3 of 4 tasks during the semester, information on this in individual sessions)
- Module examination: Paper in the form of a portfolio consisting of four tasks that are set over the course of the semester (length: 7-9 pages, excluding title page and literature). Latest submission date: 26.8.2022.
