This project course is for students in the BA programme, independently of their study language.
Contents:
We wil start with an overview on the basics and methods of text competence and discuss models for the analysis of source texts in the process of translation. Then we will review different text in German as examples for text types of general nature, analyse them as if preparing their translation in a selected target language, and think of possible consequence for the translations.
The practical part will be defined according to the size and composition of our group.
Additional information:
The course will be taught face-to-face. Texts and other materials will be uploaded to ILIAS.
In order to "pass" this course, the assignments during the semester have to be done in an acceptable manner.
