You don't need technical knowledge in order to take part in this class, although it would be helpful to have at least a little technical understanding, of course. What will definitely be expected, though, is the willingness to research terminology and background knowledge in various types of media, books printed on actual paper being among them.
Contents:
In this practical we are going to translate texts of various types pertaining to automobiles and some of their subsystems from Chinese into German.
We are going to construct a glossary for the terminology encountered in the texts.
Types of texts we are going to choose from are popular scientific introductions, user manuals, repair manuals, maintenance manuals as well as product descriptions.
