Contents: The number of letters preserved from the Middle Assyrian period has increased considerably in recent years and, according to current knowledge, amounts to far more than 200. This text corpus is interesting with regard to its formal design (mostly epistolary orders or epistolary reports), but above all due to the fact that it is fed by many archives from peripheral sites outside Assur. In the seminar, this particular text genre, but also the grammar and graphy of Middle Assyrian, will be examined on the basis of selected examples.
