Requirements / organisational issues:
“Introduction to consecutive interpreting ES>DE” is eligible only for students who have completed their Spanish Grammar Module. Students with German as A- and Spanish as B- or C-language as well as students with Spanish as A and German as B-language are allowed to join the class. Exchange students will have to check with the teacher whether they fulfill the requirements to participate.
Contents:
"Introduction to consecutive interpreting ES>DE” introduces students to the principles and basic techniques of consecutive interpreting from Spanish to German. Students will, furthermore, train analytical thinking and comprehension as well as learn to recognize and solve language transfer problems inherent to this language combination. The speeches used focus on social, political and cultural topics related to the Spanish speaking world. At the end of the semester, the students will be able to interpret a speech (4 minutes long).
Students must participate actively and regularly in order to pass the class.
