In this introduction we will talk about basic concepts and methods of the study of culture, and look at selected examples of the cultural evolution and history in Portugal, Brazil and in Lusophone Africa. These exemples will include aspects of history, politics, literature and popular culture as well as different forms of mediatic representation.

The schedule and organization questions will be a topic in our first session.

The lecture will be taucht face-to-face, the slides of the respective sessions will then be uploaded to ILIAS.
In order to "pass" in this lecture, a short question on the topic of the respective session -has to be answered in an acceptable manner.
