Contents:
The course deals with the basic concepts of subtitling from Chinese into German. These concept will be discussed and applied in practice using films selected by the students themselves. We will focus on working with the texts and the various techniques for compressing and shortening.
The students need familiarize themselves with the relevant functions of the subtitling software (Aegisub) beforehand. The course will not deal with technicalities. The course is open to Chinese exchange students who are not placed in the language courses (D courses).
Whether participants have to take an exam or whether respectively what kind of paper they have to write depends on which part of the module the course represents. This will be clarified at the beginning of the semester.
