In this course, common language texts (usually press texts, but also completely different texts) are translated from Chinese into German and the relevant translation problems are discussed contrastively. If required, the group can complete the course with an exam (relevance for recognition as a translator).
These organisational issues as well as the topics will be discussed in the first session.
Topics and text proposals can already be submitted by e-mail during the semester break (kempa (at) uni-mainz.de).
Contents:
In this course, common-language texts (usually press releases) are translated from Chinese into German. Relevant translation problems will be discussed. If required, the group can conclude the course with a written exam (the exam might be relevant for admission as a translator in official contexts).
