An admissions test must be passed to participate in all interpreting courses offered by the Italian department in the MA in Conference Interpreting.
Erasmus students may be admitted after consulting the instructors.
Contents:
In the interpreting practice course "Simultaneous Interpreting EN-IT 1", participants are taught the basics of EN-IT simultaneous interpreting. Particular focus is placed on strengthening comprehension skills and analytical thinking, as well as on the analysis of language-pair-specific interpreting problems and strategies. In addition, students acquire research skills tailored to the interpreting process throughout the course of the semester. At the end of the course, students are able to simultaneously interpret a speech of approximately seven minutes from EN into IT.
After successful completion of the course by fulfilling the active-participation requirements, the advisory examination takes place, in which students simultaneously interpret an EN text into IT.
