Erasmus students studying at master's level may be admitted after consulting the instructors.
Content:
In the interpreting practice course "Consecutive Interpreting German-English 3+4", the interpreting skills acquired in levels one and two are consolidated and expanded upon. Focus is placed on the consistent and conscious use of what has already been learned and on the acquisition of complex consecutive interpreting strategies specific to the language pair. Additionally, comprehension and analytical skills are consolidated by working with more difficult speeches (in terms of content, syntax and terminology), some of which are used with their original audio. Flexibility in linguistic expression is significantly increased. At the end of the course, students are able to consecutively interpret a speech of approximately seven minutes from German into English.
After successful completion of the course by fulfilling the active-participation requirements, the final examination for level four takes place, in which students consecutively interpret a text of approximately seven minutes into English.
