There are no admission requirements for participation in the Introduction to Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpreting Russian - German. It is, however, recommended to take this course after completing the respective language competence modules.
Active participation is required to pass the course. The exam for the "Interpreting" module can be taken in the form of a commented interpretation.
Contents:
This class is an introduction to the basics of consecutive and simultaneous interpreting. We will start by working on listening comprehension and the analysis of spoken texts. Training materials include speeches, interviews and lectures on various topics from different media.
The course content also covers the presentation of your own short speeches as well as preliminary exercises in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting and first experiences with consecutive interpretation as well as in the booth.
Also we will repeatedly reflect on what constitutes successful communication, especially in the context of interpreting.
