In the interpreting practice course "Simultaneous Interpreting DE > NL level 3+4", the interpreting skills acquired in levels one and two are consolidated and expanded upon. Focus is placed on the consistent and conscious use of what has already been learned as well as on the acquisition of complex interpreting strategies specific to the language pair. Additionally, comprehension and analytical skills are consolidated by working with more difficult speeches (in terms of content, syntax and terminology), some of which are used with their original audio. Research skills are strengthened and the management of preparation materials in the booth practised. At the end of the course, students are able to simultaneously interpret a speech of approximately 30 minutes from DE into NL.
After successful completion of the course by fulfilling the active-participation requirements, the final examination for level four takes place, in which students simultaneously interpret a text of approximately 20 minutes from DE into NL.
