In our drive to de-colonise the curriculum, (British) Cultural Studies 3 courses will from now on no longer be offering more of the same and be a continuation of CS1, but you will be given the chance to adopt a different perspective for the remainder of Britain's story.
Modelled on our "Survey of British Culture and Literature" (CS1 and [old] CS3) and in line with our Survey on Ireland, Wales, and Global Britain, this lecture will provide an overview of Scotland’s History, Culture and Literature, starting with questions of identity and a sense of place before embarking on a journey through the ages that will open up vistas
into Scotland's rich cultural heritage and her stories of nationhood.
If you are interested, my Cultural Studies IV seminar on Scotland will be offered as a student-led companion course to this "Survey of Scotlands History, Literature and Culture"
